A Fresh Perspective on Vintage

 The Shelford Channel incorporates Rupert Neve's latest transformer-gain, class-A microphone preamplifier, which marks his first innovation in over four decades. It also features a top-notch inductor EQ section that pays homage to the classics, a diode bridge compressor that adds a wealth of tonal options, the flexibility of variable Silk saturation, a newly designed custom transformer output stage, and double the operating voltage compared to vintage designs.

Rupert Neve's preamplifier in the Shelford Channel incorporates an input stage and transformer gain mic pre that is reminiscent of his designs from his time in Little Shelford. This preamplifier is unique as it utilizes a directly-coupled transformer input for gain, which is a first for Rupert Neve in over 40 years. The custom-designed input transformer, in combination with the class-A circuitry, plays a crucial role in shaping the Channel's distinctive and instantly recognizable character. Additionally, the Direct Input of the Shelford Channel shares the same topology as the popular RNDI Active Transformer Direct Interface, ensuring exceptional clarity for high-Z instrument signals, remarkable low-frequency response, and a remarkably smooth high end.

The Shelford Channel's Silk & Texture circuit provides the flexibility to precisely adjust the level and character of harmonic elements in the final output. This grants you the ability to fine-tune your signal from a transparent state to settings that yield almost 10 times the sonic richness found in Rupert's classic modules. Moreover, it offers two distinct modes, each with its own exceptional qualities. Regardless of the specific sound you desire, Silk is an invaluable tool to assist you in achieving it.
